An umbrella policy serves two important functions. First, it provides you with an additional layer of liability protection over your primary policy should you have a catastrophic loss. Secondly, an umbrella policy offers some coverages not included in your primary policy.
Your Sublimity umbrella policy is a true umbrella policy, not an excess liability policy.
With an umbrella policy:
- You are protected against some claims that may not be covered by your underlying home, auto and watercraft policies.
- You are covered for defense costs and attorneys fees associated with claims against you that are covered by your personal umbrella policy but not by your underlying policy. These expenses are in addition to your policy limits.
